Our Make It a Million Pot Has Reached a Landmark £500,000

And it’s all thanks to our incredible community pubs

Crafty pubs and their operators across the nation have made brilliant strides in bumping up our Make It a Million charity pot, and thanks to their incredible efforts, we’ve now reached our halfway point – a massive £500,000!
This is a phenomenal achievement for all of our operators, so let’s take a look at who’s helped to bring us this huge step closer to that million-pound milestone.
The Garden House, Norwich was one of our superstars of the season, and they’re still not stopping! The local favourite managed to raise an incredible £20,000 for local schools and charities, and their efforts have provided an astonishing 3,000 children with food boxes and supplies over the summer holidays. We want to say a huge well done to everyone at The Garden House, who have done and continue to do some incredible things for those in need.
The Corner Pin in Barnsley has also achieved star status after raising a whopping £12,000 – well over their original £5,000 target! Families gathered for the pub’s fun day, and brave customers and locals have taken on group sky dives and body waxing fundraisers (ouch!) to help kick up those funds. Pub operator Jyneen has done it all for charity Epilepsy Society, after losing her sister to an epilepsy-related condition. Jyneen – you and everyone at The Corner Pin have done Craft Union, the Epilepsy Society and your sister proud!
The Rising Sun, Bristol is next on our list of legends, bringing in a spectacular £10,000 for various children’s charities in Bristol. Most recently, The Rising Sun and partner-in-dime The Foresters Arms partnered up for an 8km fancy-dress run, which saw favourites like Super Mario, Willy Wonka and Minnie Mouse racing to raise those funds. Excellent work from The Foresters Arms, The Rising Sun’s Aaron and Kodie, and everyone from the Bristol community!
Reading favourite The Prince has also been an unstoppable fundraising force, bringing in a huge £2,700 for local cause Babies in Buscot Support, a charity providing care for babies in the intensive care unit. Michelle, The Prince’s operator, had the pub car park packed for the annual fun day, and her efforts are still going – she’s got an action-packed UEFA season coming up to keep that charity pot growing. Well done, Michelle and everyone at The Prince!
Finally, we’re taking a trip around France with the Graham(e)s – two brilliant regional managers who cycled a massive 400km from the Normandy beaches to Paris to raise money for Help for Heroes. Graham and Grahame oversee several pubs across the North-East, and they took on the challenge to honour all those who have served our country and to boost those charity donations. Incredible stuff!
Thank you to everyone who has contributed to our Make It a Million campaign – we’re not far from our target, and we can’t wait to see what you all have up your sleeves to keep those funds piling up.
